What is a Blog
A blog is really a simple concept. Think of it as a public editorial page that anyone on the web can author. Most people create a blog on a single topic (baseball, parenting, politics, etc.) and then add new commentary to that blog over time. In web terms, the Blog is the series of comments by an author on a topic. Each individual comment is called an entry. Entries may be a single sentence or multiple paragraphs depending on the desires of the author. An author may have just one blog or multiple blogs on a variety of topics. Blog authors are often referred to as "bloggers".
By design, blogs can be created just about anywhere. Many people host them on their personal web site. Others go to specific online communities and write their blogs there.
This highly decentralized model for blogs makes it very easy to create blogs. What it doesn't do is make it easy to read a variety of blogs on the same topic quickly and easily. That is were Jambango Football comes to the rescue. Jambango Football scans thousands of blogs every few minutes looking for new entries. Once it finds them, it makes that new entry available to the Jambango Football users to read in one central location. If you know of a good blog that Jambango Football doesn't scan, see How do I add my Blog to Jambango Football? for more information on how to make that blog available to you and all your fellow Jambango Football readers.
What is a Community
Jambango Football groups blogs about similar topics (baseball, parenting, politics, etc.) together into a community so that our readers can easily find blogs on the topics they are interested in reading. Jambango Football has an ever growing list of communities that we track. You can help by adding additional blogs to a community that you read or suggest new communities for Jambango Football to track. If a given community gets too big, Jambango Football may break it down into sub communities to keep the blogs easy to read.

How do the Star Ratings work?
On any blog Entry you can click on the star rating, 1 to 5, with 5 being the highest. What you are rating is the blog itself, not the indivdual blog entry. How does the "Off Topic" vote work?
To the right of each blog entry title there is a small Off Topic Symbol
. If you beleive this entry is not appropriate for the community, you can click off topic for that entry. If 5 unique users vote an entry off topic, it will be removed from the site. Please note that the Off Topic function is not intended for use on entries you disagree with. If the topic is on topic but contrary to your view point, please do not vote it off topic. This is a community site and all relevant viewpoints are welcome.
